Sometimes I feel like I’m sitting on a ledge.
Neither expecting things from Godor offering anything to Him.
Instead, I’m siting here with the sun to my back;
imagining a life filled with the things God would give me and
considering those things I might offer.
My thoughtfulness is not very satisfying.
Instead it leaves me deeply troubled.
Why don’t I expect . . . why don’t I offer?
All I can think is that both expectation and offering require me to give up my spot on the ledge.
Dear God, may your sun shine on my back,
My thoughtfulness is not very satisfying.
Instead it leaves me deeply troubled.
Why don’t I expect . . . why don’t I offer?
All I can think is that both expectation and offering require me to give up my spot on the ledge.
Dear God, may your sun shine on my back,
strengthen it to expect what you have promised
and offer what I have. Amen
